Health-eU technology is all about making student insurance and related services faster, better, and more cost effective. It accomplishes this primarily through the use of technology, bundled in such a way as to capitalize on certain aspects of managed care initiatives that can be further adapted to the unique service model of higher education.

Health-eU technology monitors and manages a variety of student data necessary to manage certain functions including student insurance requirements, communication, local medical provider agreements, commercial medical billing, and satisfaction surveys.

Health-eU facilitates the development of local preferential medical payment arrangements between certain key local medical providers (Friends Program) and the school’s three primary medical service facilities (Health Services, Counseling and Athletics).

Health-eU supports a 3-tier plan design that incorporates an incentive for channeling students to certain key local medical providers (Friends Program).

Health-eU promotes cost savings by reducing health care visits through HIPAA-compliant secure communications capability between the student and Health Services, and between Health Services and the Friends Program providers.

Health-eU utilizes the student’s personal insurance information captured in the enrollment management process, to allow the school (Student Health Center, Counseling and Athletic Training Room) to bill commercial insurance (family insurance) for services provided to their students.

Under the new Health-eU process, the insurance enrollment–waiver experience is customized for each student depending upon the insurance rules established by the school. .
